Malcolm Hall, Loan Assessor & Business Advisor – a volunteer and a trustee!
An Associate of the Chartered Institute of Banking, Malcom is an experienced leader, manager and coach with extensive experience in strategic planning, team development and service delivery. With over 34 years’ experience in the financial services sector, most recently as Area Director responsible for SME Banking in Leeds and Harrogate, he was recognised within Lloyds Bank as an exemplar in terms of lending practice and quality.

Externally seconded as a Business Connector with Business in the Community in 2015/16, his role was to assess social issues in South Leeds and engage business in possible solutions. Analysing needs and challenges, networking with voluntary organisations, schools & businesses, influencing decision-makers and reporting to Leeds City Council and a range of organisations, Malcolm’s projects included: work with South Leeds Academy and Hammerson Plc; a project with Leeds Beckett University to stimulate SME start-ups; and employability initiatives with the Hunslet Club and Keepmoat Plc.
Malcolm is a Trustee of SNAP’s, a charity that caters for the needs of handicapped children in Leeds, and he volunteers for a number of charities, including the Memusi Foundation, which has two schools in Kenya, and with the Sporting Memories Network, who work with older people suffering with early onset of dementia. He also mentors small businesses and is setting up a business partnership consultancy offering strategic and financial guidance to small businesses, social enterprises and small charities.
